Cup-and-ring marks are Neolithic to Early Bronze Age (c. 3000\u20131500 BC) prehistoric petroglyphs found across Atlantic Europe, particularly in Scotland, Ireland, and Spain, featuring carved circular depressions (\"cups\") surrounded by concentric rings, often linked by channels. The exact meaning of these abstract symbols is lost - various theories suggest ritual or symbolic meaning, landscape markers, or possibly a connection with death or ancestors.<\/p>
This design is inspired by J.Y. Simpson's On Ancient Sculpturings of Cups and Concentric Rings, &c.<\/em> (1865).
